    <description>&lt;P&gt;My Chromecast was working fine until it shut down with a blinking red light on it. I reset it and tried to reinstall. I can get to where I see the Chromecast WiFi, and select it, but after several minutes it says "Could not communicate with your Chromecast."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The TV is on the welcome screen like normal. How do I fix this?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;If there’s a pulsing red LED light on your Chromecast device and a black TV screen, try the first step below and check if it resolves the issue. If it doesn't, move on to the next steps:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Unplug your Chromecast from the power source, wait about one minute, and then plug it back in.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Use the HDMI extender provided with your Chromecast device if you have one.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Plug your Chromecast into another TV.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Perform a &lt;A href="https://bit.ly/2K9N2RC" target="_blank"&gt;factory reset&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
