Screen went very dark

After working fine for over a year all

of a sudden the screen went dark, like can’t make faces out dark. So I saw a question here back in October where the same thing happened, and when they checked the TVs brightness setting it was turned all the way down. Mine was like that too! Except when they fixed theirs it corrected the issue. For me it fixed the TV picture but when I flip back to the chrome cast input it’s still dark as ever. Any one else have ideas? I have done a full re set.

Quick question — what type of Chromecast device do you have?

Give these steps a try:

Reboot your Chromecast.
Completely shutdown your TV and turn on after 2 minutes.
Plug the Chromecast to a different HDMI port on your TV.
Test on a different TV, if one is available.
Factory reset the Chromecast again. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
