Chrome cast problem

My chrome cast is on a constant red light and it won't let me reset and it's not showing any signals At all can anyone please help.

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

What Chromecast device do you have? Have you tried plugging it into a different HMDI port or different TV? Also, what's happening when you reset your Chromecast?

Hi, I have the 1st gen and I have tried plugging it in different hdmi ports and different devices. I can’t reset as it doesn’t let me and it won’t give any flashing light when I hold the button for 20 seconds which is how it’s meant to be reset.
