Casting to home group

Good morning,

When casting youtube to my Home group, Chromecast 4k + Nest mini it just freezez on the youtube logo screen.

When casting only to Chromecast or only to Nest Mini it works perfectly but when casting to both it seems to stay on the logo.

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: when you cast to your Home group and you experience the freeze on the YouTube logo screen, does the Nest Mini play the music? Have you tried casting another music service to isolate the issue? How about if you play music via voice command?

You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest Mini and Chromecast for 30 seconds, then do the same thing on your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.

Hey Juni,

When casting via voice or Youtube music to home group it just freezez, when casting directly to chromecast only it works (it does not play any music on the nest mini). Strange thing when casting from the youtube app (not the music app) the home group does not show up.

Hey ajvt1001,

Thanks for that additional information. Have you tried reinstalling your Google Home app? Could you try creating a new speaker group to see if you'll get the same result?
