Google 2 step verification

I have a camera which I use google nest for. I've had it for about 3 years. I do not have google twe step verification enabled for anything. If I don't have the tab for the camera in use I have to sign in again when I click on the tab. It's a little inconvenient but no big deal. About a week ago Google started asking to verify every time I sign in. This is becoming a real problem... I made no request to have two factor verification, furthermore it keeps asking now every time I have to sign in which I may have to do often when I am online. It's my home computer. How was this change implemented and why. I tried what I could. I checked google to see if I have 2 factor verification enabled and I don't. I've tried everything to the point that I am ready to throw it in the trash. If I do that I will no longer need nest and I will discontinue.

Your privacy and security are important to us. These changes reduce the likelihood of an unauthorized person accessing your Nest account. When you invite a Nest product into your home, making sure that the product only adds to your sense of safety and security is a responsibility we take seriously. That’s why we made this new feature mandatory for people with Nest accounts.
