High ping, then shutdown?

I've only started logging it this year, but when my ping starts going up, my WiFi Mesh system is bound to shut down and stop working a few days after that. I go and touch the wifi mesh puck, and it's warm/hot (Idk what the definition of overheating is, so I'll just go with warm/hot). I always have to unplug it, then unplug my router, and wait a few mins before plugging everything back in and letting it run until the same thing happens again.

What can I do to solve this issue?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

A few things: which Nest Wi-Fi device are we working with? Is this happening to all your Wi-Fi pucks? Is it away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight? Your Nest Wi-Fi device has been tested under high performance conditions and that the temperatures are well within the safety limits provided by the (IEC) in order to pass regulatory requirements.

You can unplug it from the power outlet and move it to a cooler location and wait a few minutes before they try to use it again. Observe if this will make a difference.

Hello Juni, thanks for responding to my post.

I have a Google Nest WiFi Router, with older-generation Google WiFi points (because they have ethernet).
I have observed that it's only with the main router puck. It will remain online, but the internet won't work and the color is a yellowish/white. I keep my router puck next to the mandatory WOW! router I have to use. I use the Google WiFi points as ethernet extenders and for faster WiFi since my house is so big.

@NeoManiac, I'm checking in to see if your Nest Wifi router is still getting hotter after changing its placement. If it does, try switching it with a Google Wifi point, making the point the primary router and the Nest Wifi router an access point.

I have figured out with WOW! that it's not the Google Nest WiFi router, but rather the modem that WOW! provided me. Thanks for this tip though, it helped a bit.
