Sensor detecting movement

Hello, I inherited a Nest in a house I moved to. One of the features I was really enjoying was that it appeared to have some sort of sensor that knew when I was away. It even turned off the heat when I was sat on the sofa say, watching a film for a long time. Unfortunately that seems to have stopped working, so now if I forget to turn the heating off I come home to find the heating has been on all time, or (like just now!) I wake up too hot. I’ve tried turning off the program completely, but that hasn’t changed anything. Can anybody offer any advice how to make the sensor operational again so it knows when I am (for example) in bed, so it switches off the heating if I forget.

Thanks very much. I've made some changes and had a read on it. I'll come back if I have any more problems, but hopefully that will solve it.

Hi Jake, no I'm fine thanks. I've played around with the settings as David recommended, but also have turned the timer off, so it will for sure never heat when I'm not arround again. Than ks for checking.
