I currently have a Honeywell thermostat and would like to replace it with a Nest thermostat.

To determine your systems' compatibility with the Nest Thermostats. A few questions: do you have a cooling and heating system? What type of HVAC system do you have? Also, could you share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring showing how the wires are labeled?

Hey there,

I appreciate your efforts in sharing the photos. However, it doesn't show how the wires are being labeled, such as by showing what terminals they're connected to. If possible, could you at least share with us a photo of your system's control board showing where the wires from your thermostat are connected? In this way, we can see what the use and why they are being tied.

Hi Allen1013,

Thanks for sharing the photo. It appears that you have a high-voltage system with 120V or 240V and wire nuts. The L terminals are for the line or supply, and the T terminals are for loading. Basically, L is power in, and T is power out. In some cases, it's possible that your system can be made Nest Thermostat-compatible. But you'll need to contact a local pro and have them install a step-down transformer to 20- to 30-volts.

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up with you. I would recommend having an HVAC pro come out, and take a closer look at your system. They would be able to install a step-down transformer to ensure the device is powered correctly, and there are no issues upon installation.
