BBC iplayer on Chromecast with Google TV (HD)

Hi all,

Having recently purchased a Chromecast with Google TV (HD) I am having issues with playback on BBC iPlayer.

During playback the picture lags every 6 seconds or so. This only happens on BBC iPlayer, no other apps. My WiFi signal is shown as 'good' in the Chromecast settings. I own a previous gen chromecast and have never had this problem previously?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. You can clear the data and/or cache of the app that experiences the issue, then observe if it will make any changes. Check the steps below for instructions.

Android:

Note: You need to re-download any videos that you've already downloaded for offline viewing.

On the phone or tablet, go to Settings Device Apps All.
Scroll down and touch the app that has issues.
Tap Clear data, then tap OK.
Tap Clear cache.

iOS:

Note: iOS users need to uninstall and reinstall the app in order to clear cache and data.

Hold down the app icon until all the icons shake.
Click Remove App to delete it.
Go to the App Store to reinstall the app.
