Routine not working anymore

I use the "Good night" Routine where it first asks what time to set an alarm and then goes through a list to turn off all the lights in the house. This worked great until a week ago when it stopped working. Now when I initiate the routine, it asks for the alarm time but fails to go past that in the routine. I thought it might be a problem with Google Home and the devices but I can still individually control them with voice commands. I tried clearing all the routines and set it up again and it is still doing the same thing. I feel like there was an update with Google Home that broke how routines work and it may have to do with Google asking for the alarm time. I don't know what the fix is but was hoping someone had some insight.

Thanks for bringing this up.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this. Since that is a pre-made routine, have you already tried checking other pre-made routines on the Home app? Make sure that when you do, Personal Results is turned on. Also, you might find these info helpful:

Open the Google Home app .
On the Home screen , tap Routines New Personal.
- If you don't find Routines , learn why Routines might not show.
To name your Routine, next to "New Routine," tap Edit .
- If you add a voice starter before you name your Routine, the voice starter becomes the name.
Add the starters and actions you want.
If your Routine is set to start automatically and includes actions with audio, select the device you want the audio to play on.
1. At the bottom, tap No device for audio.
2. Select the device.
3. Tap Save.
Tap Save.

You can find your new Routine in the list under "Your Routines." This list also includes some ready-made Routines that you can edit.

Note: "I'm home" and "Leaving home" are both ready-made personal Routines that don't use presence sensing. To create household Routines that start when everyone's away or someone comes home, set up Home & Away Routines.

Examples

Some examples of personal Routines:

Starter: Say “Hey Google, let’s go home.”
Action: Google Assistant gives a traffic update, reads your texts, and plays a podcast.
Starter: Say “Hey Google, bedtime.”
Action: Google Assistant sets an alarm, turns off the lights, and plays sleep sounds.
Starter: You dismiss your morning alarm.
Action: Google Assistant tells you about events on your calendar, the day’s weather, and your commute to work.

Actually your post didn't help. But I did figure something out. There is a problem with the set alarm feature. It stops a routine after you have given a time. I have placed it at the bottom of the routine so it turns off the lights. But you should probably forward this to Assistant developers.

This did not help. The problem is with the pre-made routine. There is no set alarm function listed, yet the routine still starts by asking for an alarm time then fails to execute the rest of the actions.

Raibeart, have you tried using the suggested steps above? Are you using the same Ready-made "Good Night" Routines? This is only the routine that has features where you can set an alarm.

Just close it. It's obvious by now you Community specialists aren't any help. I'll just hope at some point your developers will fix this issue.
