Is the Google home service down? I haven't been able to control my lights or plugs since yesterday. I have rebooted everything.

Might be a system wide problem. Seems like lots of people reporting system not be able to do commands it did before.

I know how challenging it is when you're having issues controlling your smart devices using your Google Home/Nest device. I'd love to dig deeper into this.

A few questions:

What type of Google Home/Nest device do you have?
Are you able to control your smart devices from the native app?
What is the brand of your smart devices?
What app did you use to set it up?
What command and response are you getting from the your speaker/display?

Let's go ahead and reboot your Google Home/Nest devices and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals. These will help to refresh the connection of your device to your network.
