Genie garage door status

I have two new Genie garage door openers and have linked them to the Aladdin app (Android) and to my Google nest mini. I can open and close my garage doors via the nest but all I want is the status of the doors. I've asked "Hey Google what is the status of my garage doors" and it doesn't know what I'm asking. If I ask specifically if one is open or closed it will give me an answer but i need to that individually and specifically open or closed. Can I set up a general question of status?
