How to get started

I have fundamental questions Google Nest, configuring wall switches and lights on the android app called Google Home, and what's what. I am having trouble getting started because this forum assumes I know something that I don't. Even this form is unforgiving.

Welcome to the Google Nest community! Have you already bought some smart switches and lights or are you looking for recommendations?

Hi bmerenbloom,

Thanks for reaching out. You can remotely control third-party party smart devices when you set them up in the Google Home app. See the steps below on how to link your switches.

Open the Google Home app
Tap Devices Add Works with Google.
Select the device maker from the list.
To complete the setup, follow the in-app steps.
