Help with WiFi.

is there not an easier way to connect multiple devices to a new WiFi network if they are already in your app?

I recently changed my internet provider and therefore, a new wifi set up was installed. I really don’t want to go through the process of resetting all of my hubs, the minis, a camera, plugs, and most annoyingly, the lights.

Not having an easier way to connect the devices at once with a new wifi network makes me to throw it all away and never add to my smart home with google products again.

@olivia1

Google Nest simply does not make it easy. This forum has MANY posts from customers trying to update Wi-Fi settings.

Their recommendation is, if possible, to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old router/modem. When we got a new router/modem a year ago, that's what we did, and we didn't have to update any of our devices. But we weren't changing internet providers, either, just upgrading to a newer router/modem.

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10165378

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that it would be a lot of work to do. Unfortunately, you really have to reset the device for you to connect it to your new Wi-Fi network. We’re always looking for ways to improve. Be assured that we're taking note of your feedback.

I appreciate your input, @MplsCustomer.

Best,
