UPDATE - Now unable to trigger automations with physical light switch status change

I posted a thread recently where I was no longer able to turn on or off other lights using a the physical button press on a smart light switch. So basically asking google to turn on the lights turned on two lights, but pressing the physical button (included in an automation) didn't trigger the second lights to come one, that had been working for months.

I did some trouble shooting today, and the results are bizarre, if I open the page that controls the kitchen lights on my google home in the same room and press the physical wall button it works. If google home times out to the weather frog for instance, the routine fails.

To be honest that seems nuts to me, but it is ultimately repeatable.

fine every time, when google home snoozes away from this page, it stops working, so in essence I have to go into the google home and open the page to make it work.

Thanks for reaching out and for the details you’ve shared. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. Try to disable and enable the weather frog feature and reboot your Google Nest Hub; once booted up, observe if it makes a difference.

Hi there,

Thanks for trying that. Sorry that you are still experiencing the issue. Try the factory reset, this erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again.
