Google Nest Hub Max Thread Support for Matter Devices

This post says that the Nest Hub Max can act as a Thread border router, but how? I have a device that needs a Thread border router, but when I use my Pixel to add the device, it tells me I need a Thread border router which I have the Nest Hub Max connected to my network.

I am so confused on how this works and what to do. Can anyone help?
