Need to remove wrongly installed Mounting bracket for Google Nest Hello Doorbell (wired)

I need to remove my Nest Hello Doorbell (wired) to reset it to factory see settings but the installer placed the mounting hole on top (upside down) and when I insert the removal tool into the hole, there is nothing to release. Before I use a small straight edge screwdriver to force it out, anyone has a suggestion?
