Automations stopped changing speaker volume

I have a series of automations in Google Assistant which include changing the volume on various speakers around my home. This is done by having a custom command such as:

Set volume to 25% on bedroom speaker

For the past few days, this automation has stopped working. If I run it on my phone, no volumes change. If I run it on a speaker, it changes that volume on that speaker several times (like it's running all the volume change commands on that speaker locally, rather than the device it should be changing).

This has worked perfectly for many months before this, so it is a recent change. This seemed to happen around where the group changes due to the Sonos infringement occured.

Has anyone else experienced this?
