Everything was working. I have added a WiFi extender but nothing is connecting to that. I have an Ecobee thermostat that was connected, 4 Gosund smart outlets, and a garage door opener. I can't control anything now through my Nest mini. I have reset the mini (multiple times), removed the the home, assistant, and Gosund app from my phone and problem is unchanged after reinstall. I tried turning WiFi on and off in my phone. I am out of ideas.

What is the response ?

Based on this note I tried. The speaker response was that I need to do it in the Home App. So I did that procedure (several steps) and got the spinning circle but no change in status. All plugs are off line

Let's take away some variables.. you said you have the gosund smart outlets, can you control them in the gosund app?

So, the 4 Gosund smart outlets work in that app but do not work in home or assistant. (even after sync) I also disconnected the wifi extender just in case. no change. I see a related issue in that I have an Ecobee thermostat and a smart life garage door opener. I cant seem to add the ecobee to a room nor can I add the garage door opener to the house in "home" This may be complicating things but it may point to the problem...

Very strange. I hate to say it but I think the thing to do here is delete the home itself, clear the Google home apps cache, and create a new home, and build from there. There has to be something stuck that is not allowing the devices to communicate, and this seems to be the most painless way forward.

Problem solved. What I found is that the problem devices and their associated linkages were set up under a separate user account. Until I sorted this out I could not wipe out the troublesome devices. This happened during set-up when I was putting two different smart systems in place and I had two different user accounts. Now everything is working after I wiped out the home and the all devices and re-added everything. BTW, I was not able to see the user issue directly.
