Google Home stopped working with Aqara fp2

Google Home Automations were working just fine with the Aqara fp2 until a few days ago. Google Home shows the sensor states of presence or absence. I haven't changed any settings or automations. It was working fine in the morning but not in the afternoon. I'm at a loss

Same here. It just stopped working. Actually, it does work if you have the home app open on the devices tab, but that's obviously not much help.

Well it's good to know that it's not just me. Still frustrating though.

The Alexa routines still work. The Google home automations are better since it uses conditions. This problem was there when I first got the fp2. Eventually either Aqara or Google fixed the problem and it work well. Someone must have unfixed it last week.

I reconnected the Aqara app to Google Home and the Fp2 routines work. I'm sure I did that on the day the routines stopped working. Apparently I didn't.

So try reconnecting Google Home to the Aqara app.

Reconnecting has worked for me too. I definitely *did* try that before and it didn't work then, so I guess something else has been changed which needed the reconnect to trigger it? Anyway, seems to be working again, hooray!

Reconnecting has worked for me for only a limited time, the problem keeps coming back in my case. I have to reconnect all the time to keep it working, it’s very frustrating.

Sometimes, it worked for a day, sometimes for only few hours after reconnecting. Today, the reconnection didn’t work at all. I have to refresh the google home app too frequently for the automations to work as properly.

I bought two FP2 to test it in november and it worked properly for a while so I bought three more and was very excited about this very useful product, but now, since I have five of them installed, it keeps not working properly.

Please help

I have the exact same issue. Once I manually go to the Google Home app and refresh my devices, it syncs and lights turn on, which kinda defeats the purpose of the set up. Was working just fine for months now it does not as of this week.

I've tried to resync Aqara in the Google home app multiple times to no avail.

Frustrating and I hope they "unfix" what ever they fixed this week.

If it can help solve the problem,

I'm from Canada, I'm using latest version of Aqara for US and Other

Latest version of Google Home

And I control the two apps on IPhone XR with the latest version available of IOS which is 17.1.2

I must say, i'm not sure but I think the problem begin to occur when I updated to the new IOS version.

I tried to reset my Wi-fi connection, re-connect Google Home to Aqara several times, all my other automations using other Matter devices (Eve Motion) are working as expected.

But the Aqara FP2 issue persists, I have to manually refresh the Google Home app to get the automations working properly.

Thank you for the reply, hopefully more people reporting the issue will get Google to look at this.

And.

I am running android, and I did also have a recent update to my phone. But it didn't matter if my phone was on or off or connected to the Internet, it would work flawlessly no matter what. I am thinking Google might have updated/patched something in the last week that might have broke the background syncing.

It works if I manually sync in the app, or if I say, Hey Google Sync My Devices, to force the sync verbally works for a minute and then goes back to unresponsive.

i’m new to this community,

is there someone from Google follow up on the situation or do we have to cross fingers. I don't often complain about this kind of thing but I must admit that I am really disappointed. This situation means that I have to rethink all the automations of my home. I thought I no longer had to touch a switch or thermostat but now I have to re-adjust the routines that I deleted after setting the FP2. It's really time consuming. This is diametrically opposed to the idea of a smart home.

I don't think anyone has reached out to Google about this as I don't think it is a Aqara issue.

This happened to me a little while ago maybe a month ago for a few days and then just "fixed it's self". So I am gonna give a few more days as personally it doesn't affect me that much, I just have it for some soft string lights in my office.

But I recommend reaching out to Google Home support and see if a bug report/ticket can be created.

Here is a small, less than helpful, update.

It suddenly started working for me yesterday. I got all excited and turned off my emergency IFTTT routines, but it's stopped working again today (unless I open the Home app).

There's something happening, I guess, but I'm still sad.

Everything started working again for me yesterday as well. Haven't had any issues today as of yet. Monitoring today as I am remote today in my office.

Yesterday it started working again. I had disabled the Google Home routines and enabled the Alexa routines the week before. And then I noticed a Google Home routine (I missed disabling it) was working so I enabled all the Home routines and disabled the Alexa stuff. The Home routines have been working just fine. Mystery to me.
