How do I delete phantom devices from google home routines

Hi community.

I unfortunately was one of the people that had phantom devices in my Google Home app (Lifx bulbs) caused by having to delete and re-add devices for various reasons. I eventually was able to remove them by saying "Hey Google, sync my devices". Great! However, even though those devices are gone from the device list, they still show up in the routine device list. Does anyone know how to clear them out? When I go to create a new routine, I see old/replaced/phantom devices that no longer exist. It doesn't really hurt anything, I just don't select those bulbs when creating the routine. It just bugs me that I can't find a way to delete them. What's weird to me is that I have cleared the Google Home app cache, uninstalled the app from my Phone, even switched phones but they never go away. I even deleted the home and then factory defaulted all 4 Home Hub's. I still have phantom bulbs in my routine device list. I even contacted Lifx and they showed me how to see my device list, they are not there so it's not syncing from Lifx. They are syncing from something stuck in Google somehow. Am I the only one?

Hey there curtc,

I'm so sorry for the late response, but I wanted to hop in here to see how I could help. I know that having old devices in the list is kind of annoying, and I am happy to provide some clarity.

Unfortunately, this is something that has been an issue for many users for a while now, but there is no way to physically remove them. They should fall off after 60 days of being greyed out on the list, but there isn't a way to get them off manually.

I definitely appreciate the feedback and am happy to bubble this up again to see if it's a feature that can be added sometime soon.

Thanks for the reply. It's been 10 months since I opened the ticket with Lifx. They are not grayed out on the routine device list. I can still select them to use in my routine even though they don't exist and are not on the Home device list.

Hey there curtc,

I'm sorry you're still having issues with this. I was able to find some steps that may help with removing the unwanted devices from Google Home. It looks like we have to unlink their manufacturer from the app. You can do so by following these steps.

Open the Google Home app and tap on the Menu icon in the upper right corner (three dots).
Tap on the option ‘Home Control’.
In the ‘Devices’ tab, you will see a list of your connected devices. Tap on the Menu icon in the upper right corner of the screen (three dots).
Tap on the option ‘Manage Accounts’ to open the list of linked services.
In the ‘Linked Services’ section, tap on the name of the manufacturer for the device you want to remove.
This will open the screen for this service provider. Tap on the ‘Unlink Account’ option.
To confirm, tap on ‘Unlink’.

I have already unlinked Lifx just before I factory defaulted all 4 Google Home Hubs. Had no affect. I can try it again but I'll have to do it when I have time to set up 14 lights again.
