Home button is not working

Home button is not working on remote. I have already reset remote, but no changes.

At the same time when I use my Android phone as a remote - home button works perfectly.

Phrase advise.

Have you changed the batteries recently? Maybe the remote just needs to be cleaned?

Yes, I have already inserted new batteries. Didn't help.

What do you mean by "cleaning the remote"?

Well, remote controls get dirty and contacts get worn with use. If you look at the home button, does it look like it's worn out or have a lot of fingerprints around it? I can't recommend any particular cleaning technique as that's a liability issue but it's solved problems for me.
