Nest Camera (outdoor): 5GHz

Does Nest Camera battery support 5GHz.

I have a dual band mesh WiFi system with single SSID and I let the mesh system decide which band to use. All my devices (unless those not capable of 5GHz) connect to 5GHz, but camera (5m from router) connects to 2.5GHz.

In Europe, Canada, and Australia it only supports 2.4 GHz, whereas in the US, Mexico, India, and Japan, it supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

Really? An IP camera for streaming live video thru the web only supports 2.4GHz? And why this distinction?
