Nest camera motion event in google home script

I tried using device.event.MotionDetection from my nest camera that monitors my driveway to turn on the lights over the driveway. When I verified the script showed as Ok so I saved and activated it. Unfortunately, while the script was activated, this had the side effect of disabling the cameras night mode as well any motion detection from the camera.

Can someone tell me why using this event as a starter in the automation script editor would cause these problems?
