Hi, no one has helped yet.

It's not necessarily a lock issue, the lock is just the most recent of many devices I have in my smart home setup. It's Google wanting me to install the "Google app" when I try to unlink or relink "Works with Google home" services.

Glad to share screenshots but cannot figure out how to upload.

Hi, I have had my Google home setup and working for many years with quite a few integrations. Recently I purchased and setup a smart lock using Smart life which I have a few other devices setup and synced to Google home with. Yet the Smart lock doesn't seem to appear. So I have gone into other synced Smart life devices to try to unlink the devices so I can attempt to relink hoping the device will appear. When I click unlink It takes me to a page to install the "Google app" which I do not want to do. It does the same if I try to add devices that work with Google. Does anyone know if this Is a new requirement? Or a bug? Or hopefully a way around this.

What specific brand and model of lock is it? Does the manufacturer list it as compatible with Google Home?

If you open your device in the smart life app and hit the edit icon, it will list 3rd party controls that are available for your device. If google isn't listed then it won't show up in google home.

Thank you for your comment GBD. It is compatible with Google home and 3rd party controls are available.

From my responses I must not have explained myself well to begin with. My main issue at the moment is not the lock which I did expect to show up automatically. It's with Google Home directing me to install the 'Google App' now when trying to link or unlink a "Works with Google service" and that is not something I want to install. I have nearly 20 devices some made by Google, many linked with other apps such as Tuya, GE and Smart life to name a few and have never had to install the "Google App" before.

It might be helpful if I could upload screenshots, do you know how?
