You can remotely control smart devices that are compatible with Google Assistant when they link them in the Google Home app. You can check link for the supported smart home devices.

Will the products that work in the google home app work in the nest app as well?

Hey Janine5520,

If you're referring what app to use in controlling your smart home devices, that would be the Google Home app. Nest app can only be used if you have Nest devices like Nest Camera or Nest Thermostat.

Alex,

I do already have all nest products:door locks, alarm system, cameras & thermostat. This is why I don’t want to have to use a new app to automate my garage door. I was looking for suggestions for products
that could be controlled through the nest app that would allow me to control my garage door too.
