Chromecast WiFi

Been using my chromecast for years, went offline tonight. Factory reset and still won’t connect back to my wifi. The WiFi is not the issue as it is fine on all other devices. Did google retire the older chromecast devices?

I'm having the exact same problem I guess all of the Chromecasts went down at once and those of us who have factory reset run it not being able to authenticate our devices... Super frustrating

Is a global issue. No word from Google yet like at least 10 hours since main stream media picked up on it. NZ here

Super frustrating, especially when they recommend you factory reset it to troubleshoot ugh! Hope it’s back soon

Same problem, in Sweden. Not able to find chromecast with any app (not the old chromecast and not even the newer one with google-tv).
Did a factory reset and it goes to "setup" but google-home app does not find it at all.
No google searches give any useful answer 😞

Also in Belgium we have the same problem, since yesterday. Hope we get a fix soon from Google!

I also have the same issue in the UK! Multiple factory resets and reboots of everything last night but the Chromecast can’t connect to the wifi (which is working for everything else). Why haven’t Google responded or fixed it…?

i have same problem. since yesterday its not "authentificable"

it's still in wifi connected, but can not get connected with smartphones.

I’m experiencing the same thing in Nigeria. I was using the chromecast to stream Netflix then all of a sudden, it went off since yesterday even after doing a factory reset.

Having the same problem here in Ireland since last night, tried both devices between 10 and 11 pm yesterday Sunday 9th, still having same issue today Monday 10th March 1pm still on both devices...have done the usual troubleshooting steps both days

Glad to know it is world wide shut down. Google stopped selling Chromecasts 8-2024 apparently?

Hope they can be bothered to fix this for the millions who bought Chromecasts
