I have a new ac/furnace. Ac is 26 seer and furnace is 98% efficient with multi speed fan.

What nest is compatible? I had a 8 year old nest that didn't address the multi speed

What model was your 8-year-old Nest thermostat?
What type of furnace do you have (gas, electric, oil, etc.)?

Regarding your multi-speed fan system, if your system has more than one fan wire, it's crucial that these are installed by a professional. You should contact a Nest Pro to have your Nest thermostat installed, as incorrect installation settings can damage your system.
