Communication with FiOS STB

I recently upgraded my FiOS TV equipment. The new equipment is based on Android TV. I set up a new Google Home and added a Nest Mini. I have been able to get Google Assistant/Google Home to communicate with Phillips Hue lights and Hunter Douglas window shades. I have also been able to use Google Assistant/Google Home to communicate with part of my TV. I can turn it On/Off and launch various streaming services like Netflix.

What I can't do is use Google Assistant/Google Home to change the channel via the new FiOS STB. So I can use Google Assistant/Google Home to communicate with the Android TV but not the FiOS STB. Is there a way to configure Google Assistant/Google Home to communicate with the FiOS STB?

Please follow these steps:

Open the Google Home app.
Tap Devices, then Add, then Works with Google Home.
Select the device maker from the list.
To complete the setup, follow the in-app steps.
