I have set a routine in Automations to play music starting at a set time on our dining room speaker. It works well but how do I set a stop time as I don't want it to play all day. I have set up 2 automations and one seems to stop the other will go on until we tell the speaker to stop. I want this automation to work while we are away from home so we won't be there to tell the speaker to stop.

Hi Snowmum836,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to create just one routine in Automations to play music starting at a set time on your dining room speaker and then stop without you having to say the command. I appreciate the information provided. Don't worry; help is here.

Here are some steps that you can try:

Open the Google Home app.

Tap Automations > Add > select Personal.

To name your routine, tap Untitled.

Add the preferred start time at a specific time when you want the routine to start.

Add the preferred "Action" and then choose the "Try adding your own" option. With this option, you need to type the action you want during the routine but also choose a time frame, like "Play 'name of playlist' for 1 hour, then stop."

Then choose Configuration and select the speaker where it will play.

Tap Save.

Please let me know how that goes.

Best regards,

Jenny
