Hello, I have a few of those Door/window sensors from SmartLife.

I wanted when the door opens I get a "sound" from my Google nest minis in the house so I know someone opened the door.

I get an notification on my phone over the SmartLife app but I can not figure it out how to get a "ding" sound out of my Google minis.

I asked "Gemini" and it says it should work and even suggest the door sensors I bought.

But when I get in to the Google home app it shows the sensor and it's listet but I can not make an Automation with it.

Any tips?

Yep. That hasn't been possible for years in the original Google Home app. It may be possible to use Google Scripts.

Personally, I use Alexa with my Smart Life door sensors as they can be used as triggers to start routines.

Thanks. I can ask Google if the door is open tho. Just not make a ding sound if it's opened.

I never tried Google script. But I will look in to it. Thank you.

It would be great if Google could make an update 😅

If the sensor turns on a light in the Smart Life app then you could use that light to trigger all sorts of actions in Google.

Me too. So in my case, I create a scene in smart life. Door sensor will trigger another smartlife switch. Then I create Google home automation. This smart life switch will be starter to trigger broadcast or any other routine.
