I can’t have Gemini on my Google Nest mini or the OG Google Home, the highest version I’m getting is Google Assistant 3 Mini on my Nest Mini and Google Assistant 2 on my OG Google Home. IT’S NOT EVEN GOGGLE ASSISTANT 4!!!

Hello @Jbajkowski,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you want features like Gemini rolling out on your devices, specifically the Google Nest Mini and the original Google Home Speaker, and your devices seem to be stuck on an older version. I'm here to help clarify this and make sure you're set up for the update!

You are completely right to want the latest. The great news is that both the Nest Mini (2nd Gen) and the original Google Home Speaker are on the official list of devices that will support the new Gemini for Home voice assistant experience!

The reason you are seeing the older Google Assistant version numbers is because the rollout of Gemini to smart speakers and displays is happening in a few specific stages, and it hasn't become generally available yet. It's not a standard app update like you see on your phone; it's a software and feature switch managed on the Google side.

For users to get the Gemini experience on their speakers right now, there is a specific enrollment step needed. Please follow the next article to make sure that you are not going to miss anything.

Learn about Gemini for Home voice assistant.

Once you are enrolled, the system will start working to push the Gemini firmware update to your compatible devices.

Regards,

Kevin
