Hi there!

Thanks for your reply. I understand the impact this delay is having on your experience and your concerns regarding similar reports.

To help me look into this further, please provide a few more details:

What is the firmware version of your Nest Speaker or Display?

What is the make and model of your smart lights?

Is the issue happening regularly or intermittently?

Does the issue only occur when controlling lights via voice command?

Were you able to control the lights in the Google Home app without issues?

What happens after the command? Does the device acknowledge it quickly, but the light itself takes 30 seconds to actually turn on/off?

Or does the device take too long to recognize the command?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Hi @cloud1125,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that your Google Home is responding slowly since the Gemini integration. I understand how difficult it is to use your device with that delay. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

Does the 30-second delay occur when using voice commands on any device, or is it happening when you use the Gemini app on your phone?

Does this delay happen across other apps, or is it isolated to your Google Home and Gemini interactions?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Before, turning on the light only took 3 seconds. Now, after connecting to Gemini, it takes 30 seconds. This is ridiculous. I’ve also found that many people online reported the same issue months ago. There has been a large amount of feedback about this problem, yet nothing has been done. I think I have no choice but to stop using Google Home products altogether.
