Good morning, thank you. The light appears dead in the water. There is still power to it but yes, the lights slowly quit working but I still had the camera, then it went to battery power and now it's dead

Floodlight camera is not working. the status shows the battery is dead, however it has been hardwired for almost 1 year. the lights slowly quit working and then the device disconnected. looking at other posts, this seems to be a common issue. any luck with having it replaced/fixed?

I have the same problem. This is the 2nd Google hardwired floodlight/cam to act this way. Google sent me a replacement last time I complained of the issue. This one does the same thing! I am hardwired. What is wrong?

Hi folks,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that your Nest Cam with Floodlight has stopped working and is showing a dead battery status, despite being hardwired for nearly a year. I also see that the lights slowly stopped functioning before the entire device disconnected and that you’ve already replaced the device once. I appreciate your efforts in investigating this, and I know this isn't the experience you were looking for. No worries, I’m happy to assist you.

To get started, here are some questions for you:

What is the current status of the LED indicator light on the camera itself?

Have you checked your home's circuit breaker or the light switch that controls the power to the camera to ensure it hasn't been accidentally flipped off?

Is there any visible damage to the charging cable or the connection point where the camera attaches to the floodlight base?

In the meantime, I’ll recommend you follow these steps:

Disconnect the floodlight from the power source.

Clean the Pogo connector and socket between the floodlight and camera.

Wait for at least 20 seconds and reconnect the power to the floodlight.

The floodlight should light up for approximately 30 seconds to confirm it’s operational.

I’ll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Daniel

Hi @Kdw327,

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the details you’ve shared about the behavior of your Nest Cam with Floodlight. Could you please confirm if you have already had a chance to attempt the troubleshooting steps I previously sent? Knowing the results of those steps will help me determine our next course of action.

Keep me posted.

The floodlight cameras are garbage. I ripped the camera off and threw it 100 yards into the woods. I found the camera and the camera works without it being connected to the wire that I broke to the floodlight. The floodlight lost connection to a Google Home but still turns on and off with motion. I just put a piece a tape up over the sensor when I don't want the light on.
