wi-fi: looking for network

The wifi through my Google mesh system drops out literally every 2-3 seconds. Anything that relies on a smooth connection (sonos speakers eg) do not work at all. Some things which can buffer a little will work maybe. The wi-fi status on my laptop switches from "looking for network" to "on" over and ever every few seconds. I have done every reset, password change, etc. that was suggested by both my cable provider and google support with no results. I'm a few days from scrapping the entire mesh system and buying something new because it's simply unworkable and I can't spend any more time trying the same things over and over. I've been wrestling with it for 3 weeks now. If there is a solution or a fix, I'd lie to know before I have to start over with a completely new product.

Hi dlo,

Sorry about the connection issues you're having. I imagine that's quite frustrating and confusing to be dealing with. Let's work on this and get it sorted out for you. To get us going with troubleshooting steps, I have some questions and things for you to check.

Do you use any VPN services or web filtering services?

Are you using the default DNS settings, the Google DNS, or any other DNS setting?

Do you have IPv6 enabled in your advanced network settings in the Home app?

After you perform a reset, is it more reliable for a while, or does it have no impact?

When your network drops, do you see any status light changes on your router or points? If so, what color are they?

If you can think of any other information to add, it would be helpful as well. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Jeff
