Nest Thermostat not finding any wifi conections

Hi!

My nest thermostat recently stopped connecting to my wifi and now won't pick up any wifi signals. I live in a condo so it should see all the wifi networks available I would think? It can't find any. Any suggestions. I have tried all the troubleshooting options and nothing seems to work. I have had my nest for less than a year. Can I get a replacement?

Sorry to hear about this and thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I want to dig deeper into this.

A few questions — what specific Nest thermostat is this? Are you getting a specific message or code on your thermostat's display? Also, were there recent changes made on it or on your WiFi network before this started happening?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay! I appreciate you checking in.

I have spoken to someone at Google Nest support and turns out the display on my Nest thermostat is defective.

I have shipped it back and am awaiting a replacement.

Question: I have 2 HVAC systems in my home and have 2 Nest thermostats. Can my one working thermostat be removed from its hub and put on the currently empty hub where the defective thermostat was? That area of the house is getting very hot and I am wondering if I can use my working thermostat to connect to the HVAC and cool it down.

Hey Sunny844,

Got it and thanks for getting back to us — we're glad to hear that you're just waiting for the replacement thermostat display.

As for your question, as long as the other working thermostat is of the same model as the faulty one, you should be able to connect it to your HVAC system using the base of the faulty one.
