Need to change the volume of the alarm.

We have the Google Nest Protect and we need to lower the volume on the alarm. When I looked it up it said open the google home app. I did that and then it said to touch & hold your device's tile?? I don't know what that is. If it is the white circle with the green ring around it I did that. Then I went into the settings , but on my settings I do not have the Audio or alarms and timers on it?? and then it says adjust volume. I do not have anything like that in my settings on the top right hand side.

Do I have the correct app on my phone? Can you please help me with this, the loud alarm scares the death out of my dog and us lol.

We purchased the Nest protect and the alarm is too loud and scares my dogs. We would like to have the voice only with no alarm, but don't know how to do it?

I have the app on my Iphone but when I go into settings I don't have audio or anything else on my app that would help me change to voice only. Can someone help me with this. I tried calling the Nest and got the runaround.

Sorry but changing to voice only is not an option.

The law requires a set tone when an alarm condition happens so it can not be turned off. You find that all types of smoke detectors are like this.

Thank you Patrick. My other question is can you turn the volume down on the alarm. When it goes off it scares the death out of my dogs. We just want to turn the volume down on the voice and the alarm. How do we do that?

Turning the volume down is again not allowed by law. All detectors of any type are required to sound at a minimum of 85 decibels which is equivalent to that of a food blender, heavy traffic while you are in the car, a noisy restaurant, or a cinema.

You can not change the loudness of the Nest Protect as it is a life-saving device and, by law, must have a minimum loudness of 85 decibels
