Does Chromecast need to be plugged into a power outlet or will the tv's USB work?

I believe that the first version could be hooked to a tv usb port. But the latest one needs its own power supply (included)

@hwinston, check out this guide about Chromecast specifications. And to answer your question, yes, Chromecast needs a power source to function.
