Hi there. The remote on my iOS device is greyed out, but my Chromecast is up to date, please assist.

Hi Bhekzen,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let’s check this out. Was it working before with your Chromecast with Google TV?

Reboot your WiFi router and Chromecast. Restarting the phone also helps. If needed be, use a different HDMI port and see what happens to the link between your phone and your Chromecast. Reinstall the voice remote. Also, this link will give you more information and troubleshooting. Follow it up with this guide.

If you’re having trouble getting the virtual remote to work properly, make sure that you have the most recent versions of the following apps:

On your Google TV device (check via Settings > Apps > See all apps > System apps):
- Android Remote Service version 5.0. or higher
- Gboard version 11.0 or higher
On your Android phone:
- Google TV version 4.27.8.93 or higher (note: if you don’t have the Google TV app on your phone, check the Google Play Movies & TV app instead)
