I get that support for onhub is running out. I went ahead and bought the nest router and puck. I need clear instructions on how to set up the nest nest router. If I try and add it to the home app with the old router still in place, it tells me that the two are not compatible. If I pull the onhub and try to add the nest, it tells me that I need to remove the old network and offers a path in the app that does not exist. I have found no way to remove the onhub network. It does not help that pulling the onhub kills my internet connection. vague instruction like use the same SSID and password do not help if you cannot get access to the new device.

I wish they had not killed the old support phone number. Had I know they had, I might have looked at other options. The old support line was really good.

Thanks.

The only way to replace the main puck/ router, is to factory reset the whole network:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en

Then set up your new pucks from scratch:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301?hl=en

Here is where the tip about using the same network name (SSID) and password comes in. Then your wireless devices should connect to the new network by themselves.

Is there a way to remove the existing network from the home app without resetting the onhub hardware? Why will it not let me swap out the hardware and setup the nest as a new network? I work from home. there is no support. I do not want to nuke my ability to work with no path back.

Hey, Wmcc.

I just want to make sure I understand real quick. You're looking to remove the OnHub devices from your Home account while keeping all your settings on the hardware intact? Are you looking to have the devices run as they are currently configured while being able to add new devices to Home?

Thanks.

Sorry to hear it was such a hassle, Wmcc. I'm happy to hear you got it sorted out with support's help.

I just wanted to check to see if you needed anything else on this or if you're all set now.

Thanks.
