Nest Access Point Volume vary

Hello,

I have a Google Nest Wi-Fi Access point that the volume varies. Does anyone know of an issue? I have used compressed air to blow out the various holes in the access point but that didn't resolve the issue.

This might be a question for the nest home speaker forum given it's not related to the wifi functionality of the nest point. I have a couple of nest points in my mesh setup and haven't had any volume variation issues. Is the point still under warranty? If so I'd suggest logging a support call with Google as you may be able to get it replaced if it can't be fixed.

Yes. It isn't under warranty, and I went through troubleshooting with a Google Tech. Unfortunately, he was unable to resolve the problem. He was also not able to provide a repair option. Do you know of an option to send the access point back for repair or replacement?

Thanks for the response. I checked the case number that you provided and it appears that you've already exhausted all the possible troubleshooting steps with our team. I'm afraid that the issue itself lies with your Google Nest WiFi point and since it's out of warranty, we wouldn't be able to process a replacement. We suggest contacting Google Store to get assistance in purchasing a new device.

I get the fact that things go wrong with electronics, no matter who makes them, that's what the warranty is for. I think we all expect and hope our products will last long past their warranty expiry, but sometimes they don't. I do think that Google pricing on replacement wifi points is pretty harsh though. In Australia, a single Nest router is $269, the points are $229. So a router and 2 points bought individually would cost $727. But a bundle of router and 2 points is only $549 which makes Google's mesh wifi much better value for money. But if a point becomes faulty after warranty expiry, you have to pay that full $229 price which would hurt, given they're much cheaper when bought in a bundle. What I'd love to see is Google offer discounted additional/replacement pricing...if you've already bought a bundle, buying an extra point or a replacement device should be much cheaper than the normal RRP.
