Changing modems with Google WiFi

So, here is my situation.

I live in a large, 100 year old house with thick walls and many "dead zones". I have had AT&T Fiber with the modem/WiFi-router combo that that came with it for a few years now. After several initial attempts at using its built-in WiFi and using many different "extenders" to no avail (could never get signal in the opposite side of the house), I invested in Google WiFi and have been very satisfied! Works well. A great product.

My set up is a bit unusual, I believe. I utilize the "WiFi Gateway" that comes with AT&T Fiber as my modem. It is a combo modem, wired router, and WiFi router. I have two AppleTVs and a desktop computer directly wired into the router via ethernet. I also have my Google Wifi's primary WiFi router connected via Ethernet. My Google WiFi network builds off of that connection. (There is not WiFi interference b/c the primary Google WiFi router is across the house (a long ethernet cable run through the basement).

Now.....on my GoogleWiFi networks, I have a SEVERAL smart plugs on the wireless network and a Sonos multI-room speaker system connected directly to the primary Google WiFi router via Ethernet.

Indeed, it's a bit convoluted; but, it has worked seamlessly for a few years.

Now, for my question: If I upgrade or change my internet service and get a new WifFi Gateway from AT&T (I'm thinking about upgrading from their 1gig to their 2gig service).......can I just plug my GoogleWiFi primary router into the new modem straight away, or will have to reset my GoogleWiFi from scratch (and, by extension, having to re-configure all my smart-plugs and Sonos system)? i.e.....is it as simple as unplugging the Google Wif's ethernet connection form the old modem and plugging it back into the new one - or do I have set everything up again from scratch? Will it remember my GoogleWiFi wireless network?

I dont think that the ISP's modem/router 'remembers' you Google WiFi. As I understand it the modem/router treats the Google WiFi primary as a simple wired Ethernet device - it doesn't know that it is a WiFi device.

So no reconfiguration of the Google WiFi mesh necessary. But switching to a new modem/router is simpler if the new modem/router has a DCHP service and is allowed to dynamically allocate an IP address to the Google WiFi primary.
