How do I switch out my Fioptics google WiFi with my Google Nest WiFi?

Cincinnati Bell Fioptics charges a monthly fee for the Google WiFi and points. In an effort to lower my costs they said I could purchase my own modem and that the Google Nest was a good choice.

I purchased one today and tried to install tonight. It could not connect to my home network because I had unplugged the Google WiFi. There is only one jack in the house. I was on the Google Home app on my iPhone and could not figure out a way to do it. The Nest was plugged into the WiFi jack in the wall. I could create a new network but that doesn’t really help.

What am I missing? Cincinnati Bell said it was easy to switch them out.

Just to make sure you got the basics.

You can have 1x network per Google Home home.
Replacing an existing Nest Wifi network requires you to factory reset the existing network so it disappears from your Google Home home (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en), then set up your new pucks as a new network (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301?hl=en).
If you use the same network name (SSID) and password, your devices should reconnect automagically.
