Gaming on Mesh Wifi

Hello, I am looking to decrease my lag while gaming. My family uses google mesh wifi, connects a switch into it, and then my pc is hardwired into the switch. I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to use my own router (that can set speed limits and prioritize), disable the wireless radio on it, and then plug the google router into it and let my family use it. Will this mess anything up? thank you

Google Nest Wifi is also a router, with DHCP, NAT and a firewall. You _can_ bridge Nest Wifi, but then mesh won't work, and you must have a separate Google Home home per bridged point you want to control. So, probably not a good idea to add another router to the mix.

What about priority device?

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246483?hl=en

Try turning off all preferred activities, as it does not help with gaming other than Stadia?

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9541371?hl=en

What kind of internet do you have? Fiber, coax, DSL, satellite, 4G?

What latency (ping) do you get at best and worst?

What score do you get if testing for bufferbloat?

https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/bloat/wiki/Tests_for_Bufferbloat/

Maybe adding an advanced router with better built in QoS in front could help, like a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter of some sorts?
