So this is why they have different IP ranges.. your modem is acting as a router and your nest is also a router in this case. Honestly with this setup some thing may work but you could be creating a whole host of compatibility issues , a network switch is not expensive and will solve your issues with communication.

I was previously able to print from my mobile to a wired printer on my home network. Since turning off the WiFi on my modem and connecting a Google nest system I can no longer do so. The HP print service can no longer find the printer on the network as the wireless now has its own DHCP range which is different to the wired network, which it wasn't before. I can't connect the printer to the mesh directly as other wired pcs would no longer be able to find it. Is there a solution? My laptop still manages to print wirelessly to the same wired printer across the mesh only my phone will not

What is the network layout? If everything is set up properly then the devices should be able to communicate. The network layout should be modem to primary nest router to switch to devices and other wireless points

Thanks for your reply. The other hard wired devices are connected to the remaining LAN ports on the modem without needing a further switch. Connecting these via the nest LAN port would require me to purchase a switch and add 2 extra stages in transmission to those devices. My laptop can still print wirelessly over the same network, why not my phone?

Not ideal having to reconfigure my LAN to suit the Mesh network, everything now having to communicate via the mesh router. I think in hindsight replacing my modem for one with improved wireless coverage would have been an easier and less expensive option. Problem solved anyhow, thanks for your help
