I cant seem to figure out how to Forward port 443 to port 8123 for my device specific IP address...

Im trying to setup HomeAssistant to work with Alexa, I have my duckdns setup, and everything works as anticipated with port 8123, but not on port 443.

I was able to setup port forwarding rules for (IP ADDRESS) External Port: 8123 > Internal Port 8123 (TCP), and that worked, I did the same with port 443, to no avail. It says it worked in the google wifi app, but I checked on https://canyouseeme.org/ and the connection is still refused.

I dont know what to do. Im new to networking overall...

Could be that your ISP blocks common ports, like 443 & 80 (hosting web pages), 3389 (Windows remote desktop, RDP) and 445 (SMB/ Samba). For security reasons, but also because some ISPs don't want private consumers to use their internet access for hosting stuff. So, ask your ISP, or see if their support pages says something about it.

443 is still not working as intended, I had a support convo with google late last week to discuss, they were able to verify that everything looked correct. No one can seem to identify the issue.

im forwarding other ports for various things, so it’s not as if this is a new process to me, yet I’m not a networking expert by any means.

Did you ask your ISP about port 443?

I did, they swore up and down The claim they don’t block it, or better yet, they said they can’t block it since I’m using the google router and not there’s.

One more thing came to my mind: Have you configured the firewall on the device you are port forwarding to, to allow traffic coming from internet/ external IPs?

The device is a raspberry pi4. From my investigation, there is no firewall preconfigured out-of-the-box.
