Setting up a new Google WiFi Primary Point using an existing NETGEAR WiFi Router port

I set up the primary point by connecting to an existing NETGEAR WiFi router output port. It worked fine.

But, I am unable to add any additional Google WiFi mesh points.

Is this set up allowed?

This is referred to as double NAT, which means devices connected to Nest Wifi won't be able to talk with devices connected to Netgear router and vice versa. It can cause other issues as well, add latency, degrade performance, so it's generally avoided, but it works, and you should also be able to add more points to the Nest Wifi, unless you set it to bridge mode.

Nest Wifi is a router in itself. NAT, DHCP, firewall. Why don't you just remove the Netgear from the equation here?

Yes, I did - thank you !

I removed the NETGEAR WiFi completely and connected the Google WiFi directly to my main modem. I was able to add one additional Google WiFi point to create a mesh, but two of my other Google WiFi devices are refusing to connect to the mesh no matter how many times I tried (and rebooting all and with location pints). I am thus stuck using only two out of four Google WiFi devices that I have. If I don’t find a solution, I will need to return all and find a different solution.

Sorry you're still not getting everything connected. Have you tried setting up any of the problematic while they are connected via Ethernet to the main router? If not, it's worth giving it a try to see if it helps you break through the issue.
