Can you verify exactly how your system is connected? The primary Nest WiFi Router unit's WAN Ethernet port should be the only thing connected to your internet service. Any wired secondary Nest WiFi Router units should be connected back to the primary Nest WiFi Router unit's LAN Ethernet port, either directly or through one or more unmanaged Ethernet switches. A secondary Nest WiFi Router unit cannot be connected via Ethernet to the same outer network as the primary Nest WiFi Router unit.

Hello. I'm struggling with forcing my Google Nest in my office room to use the ethernet cable as connection type, and not mesh network.

It also says that the connection is weak to the other Nest - whilst the ethernet cable is outputting 560mbps. Is there any way to force my nest to use the cabled connection and not mesh?

Thanks in advance, hope I made myself understood.

Pardon for the late reply @MichaelP

My setup: ISP Router in bridge mode -› Nest WiFi Router (Primary) -› Ethernet Hub -› Nest WiFi Router (Office).

And the cable going from the hub to office router has 500mbps. But it looks like my office router is routing the WiFi from the primary Nest Router wirelessly and not via the cable.

Edit: So now I'm getting "Connection type: Wired". Let's hope it stay this way. Also found this post "How to check if two nest wifi are connected through wired ethernet" that had same problem as I.

I'm glad you found the post describing how to check on the connection type – that was going to be my next step. It sounds like it's working as expected now? It might have just needed to have the Ethernet cable plugged and unplugged a couple of times to get a solid connection.
