Google Wifi - devices reported wrongly offline

I would like to configure port redirection to one of my laptop that is connected on the wifi, but unfortunately this device is reported as offline (so I have no dynamic information like the dhcp IP and I can't configure a port redirection to it) for several days, despite the fact it is connected on the wifi and it can go through the router without any problem. Any advice ? Do I have to reset factory the router ?

Does the device marked as offline match both local IP and MAC address of the laptop? Could be that the laptop uses MAC randomization.

Hello olavrb, the laptop do not use MAC randomization. I can still see the MAC through details, but the IP information is missing.

Alright. I'd try a power cycle/ reboot of the Nest Wifi network, initiate it from the Google Home app. If that does not do it, try to disable Google cloud services, reboot, enable, reboot.

It's also a good idea to make a DHCP reservation (static IP) for the device you are port forwarding.

I have already rebooted the router (only) through the Google Home app, so I will try to power cycle it.

If I understand well, I'm able to disable Google Cloud services through the "Privacy settings" ?

And yes, I will create a static IP Lease for it as soon as I will be able to configure it 😉

Unfortunately I still have this problem. I still have lot of devices identified as "off line" despite the fact that they are connected and generate traffic. Do we know how is setup and updated this device's status ? any way to force a manual update (through an API or a console) ?

Thanks for the update. Just to isolate the issue, could you check if your IPV6 is enabled? If so, we could try disabling it and then do a 2 minute power cycle of your Google Wifi devices.

IPv6 is disabled since the beginning. I will try to do power cycle (it's not easy to cut the Internet connection when you have teenagers at home 😄 )
