We live in a 1500 square foot, single floor house and have the first gen Google Wifi Mesh Network. This has worked without issue in previous locations (last house was 2000 square feet, across 3 floors). In our current place, We have a node in the master bedroom, living room (30~ feet away from the master through 1 wall) and my office (about 50 feet from the living room node, through 2 walls).

We're running into issues with connectivity dropping in my partner's office (30 feet away from the node) and in the master bathroom (25 feet from the node). It seems like there's a handshake issue potentially happening where I'm equidistant from 2 nodes and it causes conflict. Has anybody else experienced this and do you know of a fix?

Hi jdolbeer,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Google Wifi network. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

Have you tried doing a mesh test?

Are there any devices near your Google Wifi points that could affect interference?

If you haven't yet, please try the steps on this link to isolate the issue.

Thanks,

Edward

I've run a couple mesh tests. The router and main point is in my office, the node in the master bedroom returns a Good connection, the living room returns a Great connection.

I'm not sure what, if anything, would be creating interference. The office one is on a shelf by itself basically, the bedroom is on a shelf with an Echo device, and the living room one is on a shelf with our Ring hub.

Thanks for the update. To isolate the issue, could you try changing your DNS? You could click on this link for step by step instructions.
